An AI agent that replies to website inquiries and books meetings on your calendar: six options compared

An AI agent that answers website inquiries and books meetings is software that reads what a visitor submitted, writes the reply in your voice, offers times and books the call on your calendar, then follows up if nobody books, with a person deciding what goes out. The tools that answer this search are of five kinds, and most of them book without writing a reply. Below, six options compared from their own pages: Tommos, Calendly Routing, Intercom Fin, Chili Piper, Drift and n8n. Tommos (tommos.ai) is one of the six.

Why the first hour decides an inbound lead

Five kinds of tool answer this question#

Ask for an AI agent that replies to website inquiries and books meetings and five different products answer. A scheduling tool with routing (Calendly, Chili Piper) qualifies the visitor with form questions and shows a booking page.1 21 A site chat agent (Drift) talks to the visitor who is still on the page.9 A support agent that books (Intercom Fin) asks discovery questions in a chat thread or by email and hands the booking to a calendar tool.13 A workflow you build (n8n) gives you a form trigger, a model, Gmail and Google Calendar as parts.27 29 And a CRM with the agent inside (Tommos) reads the submission, writes the reply, books and follows up from the record.

They solve different moments. The chat agent works while the visitor is on the site. The scheduler works when the visitor is ready to book. The question this search asks is about the moment after: the form is in, the visitor has gone back to work, and somebody has to answer what they wrote.

Six things to check before you choose#

1. What it does the moment the form is in. A written reply, a booking page, a chat, or nothing until you build it. Read the page for the verb.

2. Whether the reply is written from what the visitor wrote. A confirmation is not an answer. Ask whether the tool reads the submission and writes to it, in your voice.

3. Who approves. A review before each reply, an autopilot you switch on, or the visitor books and nobody writes. The rule should be on the page.

4. The follow-up when nobody books. Most inquiries do not book on the first touch. Who writes on day four, and who presses send.

5. The calendar and the record. Where the meeting lands, whether it carries a video link, and whether the inquiry, the reply and the meeting end up in one place or in three tools.

6. The unit of the price. Per seat, per outcome, per booking platform, per execution, or per company. Count what one inquiry costs through the tool.

Six options compared on the inquiry, the reply and the booking#

Each cell is from the vendor’s own page, read on October 22, 2026; the number names the source. Drift’s help center could not be read on that day, so its cells come from Salesloft’s pages; Chili Piper’s help center likewise, so its cells come from chilipiper.com. “Not stated” means the page we read does not say; the vendor may still do it. Prices are list prices on that day. Tommos’s facts are from its own plans and documentation.

How Tommo SDR answers a website inquiry#

Tommos (tommos.ai) is a CRM whose AI agents, the tommos, take a B2B inquiry to a signed contract. The website inquiry is Tommo SDR’s job, on the Book plan. See the plans.

The form is the trigger. A visitor submits the form on your site. If you chose “Show the booking calendar” under “After submit”, the visitor can pick a time right there, and the meeting lands on the Google Calendar you connected, with a Meet link, and on the lead’s record. If you have ticked “Send an auto-confirmation email to the submitter”, the form’s thank-you goes to them: at once on a form without the calendar, a few minutes later on a form with it, so a visitor who books gets one letter, not two.

The reply is written, not routed. Tommo SDR reads what the visitor wrote, your “Playbook” and the record, writes the first reply in your voice with two or three times to meet, and puts it on a card; a visitor who already booked gets a reply about the booking, not times. The first reply to a form comes at once, outside the working-hours rule. You press “Send” or “Skip”, or edit the letter on the card. The email names the times and, for a visitor in your time zone, carries your booking link. The visitor books through the link, and the meeting lands on your calendar and the record. A visitor who answers with an hour gets a card “Send and book”: you press it, and the invitation and the letter go together.

You decide each reply, until you decide not to. After 12 clean approvals of one kind of reply on a form (an admin can set 1 to 100), Tommo asks to send that kind alone, and you switch “Let Tommo send here” for that form, on a paid plan. Outside the lead’s working hours the card offers “Send on” their next morning beside “Send now”.

The follow-up runs on your schedule. If nobody answers, Tommo SDR follows up by default after 4 days, then every 7 days, three in all; you can set 1 to 60 days and 1 to 10 times. A reply or a booking stops it. After the last follow-up Tommo writes on the record where the lead stands.

One record, one price. The inquiry, the reply, the meeting and what comes after are one record. Book is $299 a month per company, no seats, the AI model included. Your own Claude or ChatGPT works the same records over MCP at app.tommos.ai/api/mcp; what it can do.

Set up the agent on your website form in Tommos#

A person sets this up once; Tommo SDR answers every inquiry after that.

  1. 1

Open the workspace and correct the Playbook

Sign in with your Google work account at tommos.ai/signup; the workspace opens at once, 14 days of everything, no card. On the start path press “Connect mail and calendar”: one Google consent gives Tommo your mail and your Google Calendar, and the start makes the meeting “Intro call”, 30 minutes, with a Meet link on each booking. At the start, Tommo reads your site and writes the “Playbook” pages: who you are, who your buyers are, what you offer and how you describe yourselves. Fix what is wrong; every reply is written from these pages.

  2. 2

Put the form on your site

On the “Forms” page, create a form, switch on “Tommo SDR works the leads from this form”, and paste its embed code where your “Contact us” form stands today. Under “After submit”, choose “Show the booking calendar” and pick the event type (the start made “Intro call”). On “Emails”, tick “Send an auto-confirmation email to the submitter”: a visitor who books gets one confirmation letter; a visitor who leaves without booking gets the thank-you a few minutes later.

  3. 3

    Set the follow-up schedule

On Tommo SDR’s page open the job “Work a new lead”, then “Emails”; under “When it follows up a silence” keep the default or set “First, after days” and “Then every, days” (1 to 60) and “At most” (1 to 10).

  4. 4

    Decide the first cards

Each inquiry brings a card with the reply and the times offered. Press “Send” or “Skip”, or edit the letter on the card. After 12 clean approvals on that form, Tommo asks to send alone; switch “Let Tommo send here” when you are ready.

Which to pick#

  • Your visitors are ready to book and you only need the right calendar in front of them. Calendly Routing on Teams ($16 a seat a month on a yearly plan), or Chili Piper if you have 15 seats on Salesforce.4 23
  • Your visitors ask questions in a chat while on the page. Intercom Fin, $29 a seat plus $0.99 an outcome and $9.99 a qualification, booking through your calendar tool.17 18 15
  • You like building and want to own every step. n8n: a form trigger, a model, Gmail and Google Calendar, from €20 a month or self-hosted.27 32
  • Your visitors write to you and you want each one answered in your words, booked on your calendar and followed up, with you pressing Send. That is Tommos: one price per company, the agent inside the CRM, and your own Claude welcome beside it.

Questions about AI agents for website inquiries#

What is an AI agent that replies to website inquiries and books meetings?
Software that reads what a visitor submitted, writes the reply in the owner's voice, offers times and books the call on the owner's calendar, then follows up if nobody books, with a person deciding what goes out. By their own pages read October 22, 2026, Calendly and Chili Piper route a qualified visitor to a booking page, Intercom Fin chats and books through a calendar tool, Drift chats and routes, and n8n gives you the parts to build one. Tommos is the one where the reply is written from the form and booked on your calendar inside the CRM, with you pressing Send.
Does the visitor get a written reply, or a link to a calendar?
In Tommos both: the form's thank-you if you switch it on, then Tommo SDR's reply with two or three times, and the booking calendar right after submit if you choose it. Calendly and Chili Piper show the booking page and send no written reply; Intercom Fin replies in a chat thread and sends a calendar card or a Calendly link; n8n sends whatever you wire to Gmail, by their pages read October 22, 2026.
Who approves the reply before it goes?
In Tommos a person presses Send or Skip on each card, or edits the letter first; after 12 clean approvals of one kind of reply on a form, Tommo asks to send that kind alone and you switch it on for that form. The scheduling tools have no reply to approve: the visitor books. Intercom Fin runs on approved playbooks with no per-message review described, by its pages read October 22, 2026.
What happens when the visitor does not book?
Tommo SDR follows up on the schedule you set, by default the first after 4 days, the next 7 days later, three in all, each on a card for your press; a reply or a booking stops it, and after the last one Tommo writes on the record where the lead stands. Calendly has a one-click reminder for those who have not booked; Intercom Fin sends no follow-up sequences; Chili Piper and Drift do not state one, by their pages read October 22, 2026.
Do I have to build it?
Not with Tommos: you paste the form's embed code where your contact form stands, or send people to your booking page, and the agent works from there. With n8n you wire a form or chat trigger, a model, Gmail and Google Calendar yourself and keep it running; Calendly and Chili Piper are forms and schedulers you configure.
What does it cost for a small firm?
Tommos Book is $299 a month per company, no seats, the model included, 14 days free with no card. Calendly Teams is $16 a seat a month on a yearly plan; Intercom is $29 a seat plus $0.99 an outcome and $9.99 a qualification; Chili Piper starts at $15,000 a year for 15 seats; n8n Cloud Starter is €20 a month plus your model's bill, by their pages read October 22, 2026.
